As the area remains a construction site, safety procedures must be followed.

For vehicles between 15 and 28 tonnes to access the site:

• Please email the Manager Transport and Public Access, Nicole Hume at nhume@bmcc.nsw.gov.au with at least two working days’ notice to obtain a permit for the heavy vehicle access.
• A permit will be required to be carried and shown to traffic control on site. Traffic controllers will then coordinate access through the site.

Please note that if the same vehicle needs to access the valley multiple times, only one permit will be required. Vehicles over 15 tonnes that are not scheduled to enter the valley will be turned back to ensure safety is maintained on site.

Spring Farm Parkway Interchange has opened to general traffic. The new ramps connect Menangle Rd to the Hume Motorway, providing northbound and southbound access.

The Oversize Overmass (OSOM) vehicle pullover area northbound on Hume Mwy at Menangle Park has closed. OSOM vehicles can use the new pullover area on the Hume Mwy just north of Moolgun Creek, Douglas Park.

Bledisloe Cup Test: Wallabies v All Blacks at Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 21 September. Gates open at 2pm. Kick-off from 3.45pm and full time around 5.30pm.

With multiple events taking place in the precinct, a combined crowd of up to 100,000 expected in Sydney Olympic Park across the day. Significant delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct.  

Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time on roads approaching Olympic Park including the M4 Mwy, Homebush Bay Dr, Concord Rd, Lane Cove Rd, Parramatta Rd, Centenary Dr and Silverwater Rd.

• CAR PARKS: parking in the precinct is in high demand and expected to sell out before the event. Ticketholders who have to drive must pre-book parking ahead of time to secure a space.
• If you have pre-booked your parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.
• Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park, at no extra cost.

Around 40,000 people are expected to attend the annual Festival of the Winds at Bondi Beach from 11am to 4pm. Changed traffic conditions will be in place at Bondi Beach and Bondi Junction.

Traffic will be very heavy on approaches to Bondi including Bondi Rd, Syd Einfeld Dr, Old South Head Rd and Military Rd as well as local roads around Bondi Beach. Motorists are advised to avoid non-essential travel or allow plenty of extra travel time.

• From 10am to 6pm: roads around Bondi Junction Interchange will be closed including sections of Grafton St, Grosvenor St, Oxford St and Grosvenor Lane. 
• Access to the Queen Elizabeth Dr and Park Dr carparks will be managed under traffic control from 5am to 6pm.

Sydney Marathon Running Show expo at ICC Sydney on Thursday 12 September, 8am - 8pm, Friday 13 September, 8am - 8pm and Saturday 14 September, 8am - 4pm.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on Darling Drive and other roads approaching ICC Sydney as attendees travel to the event, particularly during the busy weeknight evening peaks.

Traffic on roads approaching the stadium will be heavier than usual as fans travel to the match. Allow extra travel time on Captain Cook Dr, Woolooware Rd and Gannons Rd.

Cronulla Fest at Cronulla Plaza and Cronulla Park on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September from 9am-4pm.

With over 50,000 people expected to attend, heavy traffic is expected on roads through Cronulla and approaching Cronulla St as people make their way to and from the festival.

Motorists should allow extra travel time on surrounding roads and be aware of increased pedestrian activity around the area.

Major roads in North Sydney, the Sydney CBD, Pyrmont, Darlinghurst, Moore Park, Centennial Park and Kingsford including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Western Distributor, Oxford Street and Anzac Parade will be closed between 3.30am and 3pm for Sydney Marathon events.

More than 40,000 participants are expected to take part in the iconic event.

Sydney motorists are urged to avoid non-essential travel in areas around the course as long delays are expected with major detours in place.

The Harbour Bridge will close from 4am to 10am and major roads from the city to Moore Park will be closed from 4am to 2pm including College St, Park St, Oxford St and Flinders St. Sections of Macquarie St will remain closed until 3pm, while Anzac Pde from Moore Park to Kingsford will be closed from 5am to 11.30am this year.

Motorists will only be able to travel east/west across the course via the Cross City Tunnel which will be toll-free from 5am to 3pm on event day.

Detours for heavy and oversize vehicles will be in place, see the freight detour map.

• North Sydney closures between 3.30am and 9.30am including Miller St, Ridge St, Carlow St, Walker St (Miller St start line area closed between Falcon St and McLaren St until 12pm). Pacific Hwy closures 4am to 9.30am.
• Sydney Harbour Bridge, Cahill Expressway and Western Distributor closed 4am to 10am. No direct access between Anzac Bridge and Harbour Bridge. Anzac Bridge citybound traffic will be detoured via Bathurst St.
• Sydney CBD, The Rocks and Circular Quay closures 4am to 10am including George St, Hickson Rd, (Macquarie St remains closed until 3pm).
• Millers Point, King St Wharf and Barangaroo closures from 4am to 9.30am including Hickson Rd, Sussex St, Pottinger St.
• Pyrmont closures between 4am and 9.30am including Pirrama Rd, Bowman St, Harris St, Pyrmont St.
• Sydney CBD east & The Domain closures from 4am to 3pm including Macquarie St, Art Gallery Rd.
• Sydney CBD, Darlinghurst to Moore Park from 4am to 2pm including Oxford St & Flinders St closures from 4am to 2pm
• Moore Park closures from 5am to 1.30pm including Moore Park Rd, Lang Rd, Driver Ave. Eastern Distributor Bondi exit to Moore Park Rd closed 5am to 1.30pm. Centennial Park closed from 4am to 2pm.
• Moore Park to Kingsford closures between 5am and 11.30am/12pm including Anzac Pde and the Eastern Distributor entry and exit at Randwick, Cleveland St, Dacey Ave, High St and Alison Rd.

Special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect on major roads along and surrounding the course between 12.01am and 10am.

In North Sydney some clearways remain in effect until 12 midday, in the city some clearways remain in effect until 3pm, while in Kensington and Kingsford some clearways remain in effect until 11.30am

Motorists requiring access to other venues in the park should use either Maliyawul St or Glover St.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the annual Cabramatta Moon Festival today, held on John St from 11am to 8pm.

Heavy traffic is expected on Joseph St, Railway Pde, Cumberland Hwy and Cabramatta Rd West as crowds travel to and from the event. 

Sections of John St, Cabramatta Rd W, Park Rd, Arthur St, Railway Pde and Dutton Lane in the Cabramatta CBD are now closed until midday Monday 9 September. Arthur St car park and Denton Lane also remain closed.

Motorists are being detoured via local roads until all closures are lifted by midday Monday 9 September.
