For vehicles between 15 and 28 tonnes to access the site:

• Please email the Manager Transport and Public Access, Nicole Hume at nhume@bmcc.nsw.gov.au with at least two working days’ notice to obtain a permit for the heavy vehicle access.
• A permit will be required to be carried and shown to traffic control on site. Traffic controllers will then coordinate access through the site.

Please note that if the same vehicle needs to access the valley multiple times, only one permit will be required. Vehicles over 15 tonnes that are not scheduled to enter the valley will be turned back to ensure safety is maintained on site.

The Sculpture by the Sea exhibition returns to the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk for 18 days from Friday 18 October to Monday 4 November. Changed traffic conditions and parking restrictions will be in place.

With up to 500,000 people expected to visit throughout the exhibition, significant delays are expected on roads approaching Bondi and Tamarama beaches including Bondi Rd, Old South Head Rd and Syd Einfeld Dr. 

Motorists should avoid driving through the area where possible or expect delays and allow plenty of extra travel time, particularly on weekends.

Road closures and changed traffic conditions:

• Local roads will close from 7:30am to 6:30pm daily in Bronte, Bondi and Tamarama including sections of Ashley St, Bayview St, Birell St, Carlisle St, Darling St, Fletcher St. Illawong Ave, Kenneth St, Marks Ln, Notts Ave, Rowland Ave, Silvia St, Turner St, Wilga St and Wolaroi Cres.
• One-way traffic conditions will be in place around the coastal walk for the duration of the event from 9am Friday 18 October until 10am Monday 4 November. Allow extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers and exercise caution.

Special event clearways: Strict parking restrictions will be in effect each weekend of the event on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October and Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November at the following times and locations:

• 7am to 2pm: Bondi Rd between Old South Head and opposite Sandridge St at Bondi Beach (northern side)
• 12pm midday to 7pm: Bondi Rd between Sandridge St at Bondi Beach and Oxford St at Bondi Junction (southern side)
• 8am to 4pm: Campbell Pde between Queen Elizabeth Drive and Beach Rd at Bondi Beach (Eastern side)

South by Southwest (SXSW) Sydney Festival from Monday 14 to Sunday 20 October. Various conference and expo events will be held at venues in Darling Harbour including Tumbalong Park, the International Convention Centre and Aware Super Theatre.

Allow extra travel time on roads in the city and Pyrmont around Darling Harbour as traffic may be heavier than usual before and after events, particularly in peak travel times.

Up to 10,000 cyclists will ride from Sydney to Wollongong for the annual MS Gong Ride. The 82 km ride from Tempe Recreation Reserve starts from 6am and the 54km ride will start at Preston Park, Engadine from 8am. Both events finish at Lang Park, Wollongong by 4:30pm.

Road and lane closures will be in place along sections of the course.

• 4am to 9:30am from Tempe to Sutherland: sections of West Botany St, Holbeach Ave and Bestic St. The speed limit will be reduced to 60/km along Rocky Point Rd/Taren Point Rd from Sans Souci to Taren Point.
• 5am to 10am from Sutherland to Waterfall: Lane closures on the Princes Hwy from Kirrawee to Loftus and the speed limit will be reduced to 60km/h from Kirrawee to Waterfall. Delays are expected travelling southbound on the Princes Hwy during this time. 
• 5am to 2:30pm in the Royal National Park: McKell Ave, Lady Wakehurst Dr, Sir Bertram Stevens Dr and Otford Rd. Access to the Royal National Park is via Farnell Ave only. The speed limit will be reduced to 40km/h along Lawrence Hargrave Dr from Stanwell Park to Thirroul from 6am to 3pm.
• 5am to 4.30pm in Wollongong: sections of Bourke St, Cliff Rd and George Hanley Dr will be closed. Sections of Hector St, Marine Dr and Hinton St around the finish area at Lang Park will remain closed until 7pm. The speed limit will be reduced to 40km/h along Squires Way and George Hanley Dr between Fairy Meadow and Wollongong from 7am to 2pm

Motorists should exercise caution as cyclists will be sharing some roads along the course. Motorists are reminded when overtaking cyclists to leave a 1.5m distance on roads with speed limits over 60km/h and a 1m distance on roads 60km/h or under.

Parramatta Lanes in taking place in the Parramatta CBD from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 October. Being held at over 16 sites including gardens, rooftop carparks and lanes, the event starts daily at 5pm. The event will finish at 10pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and at 10.30pm on Friday and Saturday.

Road closures will be in place from Wedenesday 23 to Sunday 27 October on sections of Macquarie St, Phillip St and George St to safely facilitate the event. Parking restrictions will also be in place on George St and Macquarie St, so check signs carefully.

Traffic will be heavy on roads approaching the area and on detour routes as attendees travel to and from the event.

Allow extra travel time on Parramatta Rd, Church St, Victoria Rd, James Ruse Dr and Pennant Hills Rd.

Olivia Rodrigo at Qudos Bank Arena on Thursday 17, Friday 18, Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 October. Doors open 6pm and show runs from 7.30pm until 10.20pm each concert night.

Traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct each concert night as ticketholders travel in the already busy evening peak. Significant delays are expected on roads and entering car parks on Tuesday as a concert also takes place at neighbouring Accor Stadium.  

Attendees who need to drive are encouraged to pre-book parking online ahead of time to secure a space, available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.

J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Centennial Parklands. Event village opens at 5pm, race starts at 6:30pm and event finish around 10pm.

Traffic may be heavier than usual approaching Centennial Park as participants travel to the event.

Grand Dr will be closed all day between Café Corner and Hamilton Dr intersection. Sections of Hamilton Dr, Carrington Dr, Dickens Dr and Loch Ave will close from 1pm.

No vehicles are permitted to enter the Park after 1pm. Any vehicles inside the park must exit via the Randwick Gates by 5pm.

Large crowds are expected to attend the Ghost In The Rocks Festival in Circular Quay from Thursday 31 October to Sunday 3 November. A variety of events will be taking place at First Fleet Park, Tallawoladah Lawn, George Street Alfresco Area, and in The Rocks including Jack Mundy, Playfair Street, Foundation Park and Atherden Street.

On Saturday 2 November from 5pm George St will be closed temporarily between Jack Mundy Place and Circular Quay West for a Halloween Parade.
