Vehicles between 15 and 28 tonnes are now able to access the valley with Council permission, under stop/slow conditions.

As the area remains a construction site, safety procedures must be followed.

For vehicles between 15 and 28 tonnes to access the site:

• Please email the Manager Transport and Public Access, Nicole Hume at nhume@bmcc.nsw.gov.au with at least two working days’ notice to obtain a permit for the heavy vehicle access.
• A permit will be required to be carried and shown to traffic control on site. Traffic controllers will then coordinate access through the site.

Please note that if the same vehicle needs to access the valley multiple times, only one permit will be required. Vehicles over 15 tonnes that are not scheduled to enter the valley will be turned back to ensure safety is maintained on site.

The Warringah Freeway southbound off-ramp to Alfred St North is closed until mid 2025.  

There are a number of other long-term changes to Alfred St North as part of the Warringah Freeway Upgrade project.

• From M2 Motorway / Lane Cove Tunnel: Motorists must use the Pacific Highway exit from Lane Cove Tunnel.

Special event clearways will be in place continuously from 2am Sat 1 Feb to 2am Mon 3 Feb at the following locations to facilitate rail replacement bus operations for Metro North West Line trackwork:

• Railway St, southbound between Day St & Help St,

When queueing begins eastbound at Mount Victoria, a Traffic Management Plan is put in place to prevent breakdowns on Victoria Pass. Stop/slow traffic conditions will be put in place for eastbound traffic, with traffic controllers on site to direct motorists.

The Royal National Park is expected to be busy over the Christmas and New Year holiday period between 21 Dec and 3 Feb.

Visitors are encouraged to check the Royal National Park local alerts before travelling for updates on precinct access.

Walking trails may also be closed due to total fire bans and/or risks, so plan ahead. 

Roads or carparks may close within the Royal National Park when they reach capacity.

Luke Combs – Live in Australia 2025 at Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park on Friday 31 January and Saturday 1 February. Support act from 6pm, Luke Combs on stage from 8.45pm and finish around 10.45pm each concert night.

With more than 160,000 fans epected over both concert nights, significant traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct and entering car parks, particularly during Friday’s evening peak travel times.  

Motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time on roads approaching Olympic Park including on the M4 Mwy, Homebush Bay Dr, Concord Rd, Lane Cove Rd, Parramatta Rd, Centenary Dr and Silverwater Rd.

• CAR PARKS: parking in the precinct is in high demand and expected to sell out before the event. Ticketholders who have to drive must pre-book parking ahead of time to secure a space.
• If you have pre-booked your parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.
• Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park, at no extra cost.

A-League Men: Western Sydney Wanderers v Auckland FC at CommBank Stadium. Kick-off at 5pm, full time around 6.55pm.

Traffic will be heavy on roads approaching and within Parramatta as fans travel to and from the game. Allow extra travel time on Parramatta Rd, Church St, Victoria Rd, James Ruse Dr and Pennant Hills Rd.

Motorists should also exercise caution as pedestrian activity will be high on roads between Parramatta Interchange and the stadium.

Roads outside the stadium may close ahead of full-time to allow crowds to safely leave the venue. Roads will re-open once crowds have cleared the area. 

Be patient leaving car parks as traffic will be heavy and follow the directions of traffic controllers and Police.

Church St will be closed at Rooty Hill Rd South from 10am. Access will be maintained for local traffic and vehicles with event passes only.

There is no vehicle traffic permitted in The Rooty Hill park from 8:30pm.

Temporary no stopping restrictions will be in place on sections of Eastern Rd, Rooty Hill Rd South, Church St, Francis Rd and Dunsmore St.

Motorists should allow extra travel time on Eastern Rd, Francis Rd and Rooty Hill Rd South and be aware of increased pedestrian activity.

Large crowds are expected to attend the Lunar New Year Festival at Eastwood Oval from 4pm to 9pm.

Road closures and changed traffic conditions will be in effect, follow the directions of traffic controllers on site.

• West Pde will be closed between Hillview Rd and Wingate Ave from 10am to 11pm.

Motorists will be diverted via local roads, and should allow extra travel time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on local roads in the area.

Thousands of participants are expected to take part in the annual Sun Run event. The 7km run starts at 6:30am and the 10km run starts at 7.15am, both from The Strand in Dee Why with both events finishing at Manly Beach by 10am.

Road closures, parking restrictions and changed traffic conditions will be in effect starting at 3:30am. All roads will reopen by 11am. 

Residents along the course are urged to plan ahead and relocate their vehicles outside the road closure footprint if vehicle access is required on event day. There will be limited vehicle movements permitted while the event is underway. 

ROAD CLOSURES

• Dee Why – from 3:30am to 9am: sections of Howard Ave, The Strand and Dee Why Pde, The Oaks Ave westbound crossover will be maintained at The Strand until 6am.
• Dee Why – from 5:15am to 9am: sections of Oaks Ave, Pacific Pde, The Stand, Boronia St, Griffin Rd and Monash Pde will be closed.
• North Curl Curl to Freshwater – from 5:30am to 9am: sections of Abbott Rd, Griffin Rd, Headland Rd, Pitt Rd, Adams St, Carrington Pde, Charles St, Evans St and surrounding local roads will be closed. Crossover points will be maintained on Pacific Pde at Griffin Rd, Playfair Rd at Pitt Rd, Ross St at Pitt Rd and Headland Rd at Griffin Rd until 6:15am.
• Freshwater to Queenscliff – from 5:30am to 10am: sections of Lumsdaine Dr, Undercliff Rd, Dalley St, Dowling St, Greycliffe St, Queenscliff Rd and surrounding local roads will be closed. Managed westbound exit on Crown Rd between Dowling St and Cavill St from 5:30am to 6:30am and from 9:15am to 10am.
• Manly – from 5:30am to 10am: sections of Bridge Rd, Cameron Ave and Collingwood St will be closed.
• Manly – from 3:30am to 9:30am: sections of North Steyne, Raglan St, Collingwood St and other local roads will be closed.
• Manly – from 3:30am to 11am: sections of South Steyne, Wentworth St, Ashburner St and Victoria Pde will be closed.

Special event clearway parking restrictions will be in effect from 3am until 9am on roads along the course through Dee Why, North Curl Curl, Freshwater, Queenscliff and Manly, including on sections of Abbott Rd, Howard Ave, The Strand, Evans St, Crown Rd North Steyne and South Steyne.

• 4am to midnight: George St from Essex St to Hickson Rd, and sections of OPT Elevated Rd from Hickson Rd, Circular Quay West, Essex St and Pitt St.

• The speed limit on the Harbour Bridge will be reduced to 40km/h from 7:30pm to 10.30pm.
• The Cahill Expressway Circular Quay overpass walkway will be closed from 5pm to 9:30pm. The Sydney Harbour Bridge Walkway and Cycleway will remain open.
• Milsons Point/Kirribilli 10:30am to 1pm: Olympic Drive between Broughton St and Alfred St South.
• 7.30pm to 10.30pm: Lane 4 on the Harbour Bridge, Cahill Expressway lanes 7 and 8 and the Circular Quay Overpass will close. High St and Mount St on-ramps from North Sydney and Kirribilli will also be closed.

• Driver Ave will be partially closed outside the stadium before the match from 3pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area after the game.
• No through-traffic will be available on Driver Ave, however access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas will be maintained from Lang Rd.
• EP2 Kippax car park will not be open for this match.

Sydney Olympic Park will be very busy on Saturday with 80,000 fans at the Luke Combs concert at nearby Accor Stadium.

Significant traffic delays are expected so motorists should allow plenty of extra travel time on roads approaching Olympic Park including the M4 Mwy, Homebush Bay Dr, Concord Rd, Lane Cove Rd, Parramatta Rd, Centenary Dr and Silverwater Rd.

Roads within the park will be closed so allow extra travel time for Saturday's expo.

Motorists requiring access to other venues in the park should use either Maliyawul St or Glover St.

With more than 40,000 fans expected traffic will be heavier than usual in the area. Motorists should expect delays on Anzac Pde, Lang Rd, Oxford St, Syd Einfeld Drive, Darley Rd, York Rd and Alison Rd.

Road closures and changed access arrangements will be in effect to allow crowds to safely leave the park after the event.
