Thousands of participants will take part in the 5km and 10km Mother's Day Classic fun run and walk events starting from 7am in The Domain. Participants will travel along sections of Macquarie St, College St then Art Gallery Rd and Mrs Macquarie's Rd to finish back in The Domain by approximately 12pm.

Mother's Day is traditionally one of the busiest days on the roads. Wherever you are travelling, expect it to take longer than usual and factor in extra travel time.

Hawkesbury Show at Hawkesbury Showground. Start daily at 9am, finish Friday and Saturday at 11pm and finish Sunday at 4pm.

Traffic will be heavy on approach to Hawkesbury Showground especially along Richmond Rd, Windsor Rd, Hawkesbury Valley Way and The Northern Rd.

Motorists should expect delays and allow plenty of additional travel time.

The Moore Park precinct will be very busy on Friday night with a combined crowd of more than 50,000 AFL and Super Rugby fans attending games at neighbouring stadiums at the same time.

• AFL: Sydney Swans v Carlton at the SCG, first bounce at 7:40pm and finish at 10:20pm.
• Super Rugby: Waratahs v Crusaders at Allianz Stadium, kick-off from 7:35pm and full-time at 9:10pm.

Motorists should expect significant delays on roads in and around Moore Park including the Eastern Distributor, Moore Park Rd, Cleveland St, Anzac Pde and Lang Rd.

Changed traffic conditions:

• Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium from 5:30pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area.  
• No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP2 Kippax car park will be maintained via Moore Park Rd and access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas maintained from Lang Rd. Both grass car parks open from 4.30pm.
• Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 3pm to midnight on sections of Albion St, Lang Rd and Moore Park Rd, from 6am to midnight on sections of Fitzroy St and Cleveland St, and from 4pm to 8pm on a section of Chalmers St.

Vivid Sydney returns for its 15th year for 23 consecutive nights from Friday 23 May to Saturday 14 June and will be lighting up 5 key zones across the city.

The city is no place for cars with road closures and clearway parking restrictions in place each night in Circular Quay, The Rocks, Dawes Point, Millers Point and Ultimo between 3pm and midnight daily, and until 1am on Saturday nights.

Road closures:

• On Monday to Thursdays: from 3pm local roads in The Rocks, Millers Point and Dawes Point will close including sections of Lower Fort St, Merriman St and Rodens Ln. From 5pm additional roads will close including sections of George St, Argyle St, Harrington St, Pottinger St and Loftus St.
• On Fridays: additional closures will be in place from 3pm on High St, High Ln, Argyle Pl. From 5pm additional closures will be in place including all of Argyle St, and sections of Hickson Rd, George St, Essex St, Upper Fort St and Watson Rd. From 6pm roads in Circular Quay including Pitt, Loftus, Young, Albert and Phillip Streets will close as well as a section of Darling Dr in Ultimo. From 7pm lanes will close on Erskine St westbound and Kent St southbound.

Wheat Rd will close from 7pm to 11pm.

Traffic will be heavy on roads approaching and within Parramatta as fans travel to and from the game. Allow extra travel time on Parramatta Rd, Church St, Victoria Rd, James Ruse Dr and Pennant Hills Rd.

Roads around the stadium will close from 9.30pm until 10pm to allow crowds to safely leave the venue. Roads will re-open once crowds have cleared the area. Closure timings may be extended at short notice subject to extra time and/or penalties.
